Thing #1: Day trip to Chartres
I went to Chartres - a medieval town an hour out of Paris - with my art class today for an on sight analysis of the Chartres cathedral. It was so beautiful! Plus, we topped off the afternoon with a DELICIOUS crêpe lunch. Sooo heavenly! If you're looking to buy a cottage somewhere in France by any chance, check out Chartres. :)
Thing #2: Clothed Dog
This doesn't really have much to do with anything, but I was really amused... I was walking down the street and a little blur of orange caught my eye. Turns out, this little orange blur was in fact a tiny little dog dressed oh-so-preppily with his orange and blue Ralph Lauren rugby - collar popped and all. Oh, Paris...
Thing #3: Excitement at Zara
So i'm shopping in Zara. (Picked up a great jacket by the way - not really pertinent to the story, but whatever). I'm waiting in line to check out and see a person shopping, items in hand, heading toward the front display room. Said person catches eye contact with an employee behind the cash register. This person then proceeds to BOLT for the front door, items flailing in the air. He almost makes it out the door, but is then met by the front security guard. Before we even knew it, he was on the floor, tackled by this heroic security man, surrounded by Zara employees. Then, all of a sudden, all the employees return to work and Mr. Thief is gone. Everyone continues about their business as if nothing happened. No biggie. Just a typical afternoon of shopping at good old Zara.
That's all. Just felt the need to share this exciting/bizarre day I had. Off to Belgium tomorrow, so look out for a future post about my weekend adventure!
